Phase 1 dealing with a positive cancer diagnosis. Psa has been rising slowly over some years, nearing 4 at age 52 , (while years on Avodart, which is shown to decrease psa readings). At a screening, a urologist found a lump, so went to a urologist, and had a ultrasound based biopsy, one core Gleason 4+3 , the rest less notable....Change to vegetarian diet and supplements, , psa still rose.
Phase 2 Focal laser ablation (FLA) at UTMB, Nov 2016. First psa reading after 2 months, from 4.0 to 2.2. Followup a year later, MRI showed no cancer. Psa still 2.2.
I then stopped taking Avodart, being unsure about its safety as a drug. Ten months later, my psa has been raising readings of 3.6 4.0 4.2 at about two months apart...... While some of the increase is due to not taking Avodart, the steady climb of my psa concerns me, alot.
Phase 3 As my psa reading are in the area of a Urologist concern for biopsy, I've accepted my prostate cancer is very probably returning, and have little faith that another FLA is the answer, at least in isolation. While I'm still taking supplements, green tea pills etc, I've decided to go for prescription medication, available for a reasonable price from online Indian pharmacy's, medicines that perhaps in isolation have not show the ability to slow prostate cancer in isolation, but in combination, is my focus....
